opinions of "good book is almost the same as opinion of "good car". I can suggest you to go to barnes and noble or borders or any other bookstore, buy cup of coffee or tea, grab all php books from shelf and read some chapters. you are no going to learn anything, rather to compare "styles". some authors use a lot of code, some to much code, some explain to details some throw just links where to find more info, some explain functions with examples, some just "in general"... you know what I mean. spend 2-3 hours going through the books and then pick one you like (the style) the most.
