Here's a RecursiveDirectoryIterator class I've written and find quite useful:

$dirIter = new Util_RecursiveFileIterator('/path/to/directory');
foreach($dirIter AS $fileName => $fileInfo) {
      // $fileName is the basename of the file and $fileInfo is a SplFileInfo
      // for the file
}
