Well, "it depends" Where do you want to check if the value changes? And, perhaps more importantly, what is the problem you are trying to solve? Since you retrieve all values from the database, but only use the last one. Does that mean you are trying to determine if the last value has changed (either through INSERT or UPDATE)?
