yes i'm actually getting the MYSQL_SOCKET variable and it's looking for the
mysql.sock file in /tmp however it's placed in the /var/lib/mysql directory
and I don't know how to change this.  I've looked in the php.ini but didn't
see anything about it.  I've also looked for the my.cnf file and it's not on
the machine.
