[PHP] GD

I just installed PHP 4.0.6. 

1) Do I have to down load GD (graphics library) and install it sperately or
is it in 4.0.6 already?
2) Do I have to run anything special during configuration?
3) Do I have to completely re-install PHP and Apache?
