I've got a solution for your problem: visit.PHP!
I have written this small script when I was inspired
by PHPHits. You may try it out if you have access
to a MySQL database and created the necessary
tables.
Notice: This is alpha stuff, so you may want to use
some other production-level counter-script. Anyway,
should be worth a look.
