If you can fix the problem by removing some browser
extensions then the issue is probably not to do with PHP. Unless I have
misinterpreted what you have posted. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I have approached other list group owners with a view to creating a list
group that covers client/server code interaction such as AJAX but for the
time being this list is still almost exclusively about PHP. Some deviation
from this is ok but browsers are a long way from server side code.
