Kate is an awsome editor for programmers BUT it requires you to run Linux ..... considering the poor performance of Vista, it might be a good idea to give it a try ..... http://www.opensuse.org/ But there are a few good Windows editors out there as well, I have used Dev-PHP ( http://devphp.sourceforge.net/ ) when I have to edit something while in Windows which I only do nowadays to play games.
