I tried installing PHP5 and immediately had a problem with the PDF extension
- php_pdf.dll does not exist in the PHP5 distribution.
Can anyone tell me how to enable PDF in PHP5? It works fine with 4.3.8!

You should be using php-cgi.exe. You could also follow the directions on
how to run it as an ISAPI module.

The same thing happens on my computer running Windows XP and trying to
use php.exe. I'm not even sure this is an error though. The
documentation hasn't really been updated for PHP5 as far as I know. The
same problem existed for me in all the release candidates and betas. I
didn't know they allowed you to put the php.ini file in the PHP folder
now instead of windows. That's very nice to know. It's about time.

looks like if you use

c:\php\php-cgi.exe

for the program it works!!

Be sure to add it under Web Server Extensions to be allowed.
I use
c:\php\php-cgi.exe -c c:\php
Which allows me to have the php.ini sit in c:\php

OCIPLogon is just another function provided by the DLL, my problem was
that the DLL didn't seem to be loading properly. However, I had
uncommented the wrong DLL (php_oracle, not php_oci8) - doh!

Also, I found that having ORACLE_HOME defined caused problems once I had
the DLL up and running, so I removed that and everything is fine now.

*EXCEPT*

Jeez is Oracle s-l-o-w! The boot up time for the PC that Oracle lives on
has substantially increased, making the first connection to the database
takes ages and shutdown time is much longer too.

I miss mySQL, I love mySQL, please don't let me have to work on another
Oracle project :-)

Mikey

P.S. Are you really another Mikey or just taking the p!ss?
