Here am I. Let's start by putting that the "better" doc
system is my very opinion, which include some pride from
this work. I do understand that those suggestion may not
fit PHP.net website.
Here are a list of improvements added, available on Nexen.net

All is in French...
+ dynamic summary, with tree-like arborescence (using cookie)
+ improved search engine, with function name search,
keyword search (using user's best choice as pertinence)
+ several indexes : functions, examples, extensions and concepts.
+ annotations in French
+ links from each function to PHP function's librairy, so as to
provide numerous examples for about 2/3 of functions
+ email docs to a friend
+ Changelog (experimental)
+ Fast references for functions, usage and parameters.
All of those are not suitable for PHP.net. I suggest that
the one that are interested (such as Goba), take a look
at the mentionned URL. I'm available to answer questions about
this.
I'm currently updating MySQL French documentation,to reach the
(almost) same level of functionality, but I'll be available
soon to work on phpweb too..
