Hi.  When I modify a user comment I tend to not leave an "editors note" but 
rather rewrite/improve their comment and leave it as their own.  I prefer 
having strong comments versus weak (usually very lengthy) ones with an 
attached editors note.  Either that or I just delete the not-so-useful 
comment.

Example, a user had something like "unlike PHP3, in PHP4, quotes are 
automagically escaped" when really they don't realize what magic_quotes_gpc 
is.  So, I modified it.  Same with some nasty code people leave, etc.

Anyone have words to share on this topic?  Should I be leaving editors 
notes instead?  I see many of you do.
