This bug has been fixed in CVS. In case this was a PHP problem, snapshots of the sources are packaged every three hours; this change will be in the next snapshot. At http://fi.php.net/manual/en/function.ini-set.php it's told that default value is 1 (enabled). At http:// fi.php.net/session default value is told to be 0 (disabled).
