Would it be possible to create a special version of Cygwin, with only those apps we need for building? The only extra thing you need now is (Open)Jade, all the other tools come with the standard Cygwin. If we could add (Open)Jade to Cygwin, remove the other applications, and call the result 'The PHP-Doc Windows SDK', would that help some people? We could also add PHP to the mix of course, I don't know how hard that is to set up on Windows.

This is just an idea, I don't have any experience with extending Cygwin or changing the installer.

First it would be nice to work out what components are needed from Cygwin for phpdoc. Last time I have tried to do this I had found several dependency problems... It would be really cool if one could package a "PHP Documentation Windows SDK", but we will not need openjade so it is not a problem if it is not present in this SDK. All the tools planned to be used in the future are going to use XSLTproc and PHP. XSLTproc is only needed because the current PHP xml processing features are not adequate. XSLTproc might be replaced if PHP 5 can be a requirement (which has much improved XML processing capabilities :)
