It would still be best to go through and remove them.  A pain now, but 
better in the long run.

Don't know what to say.  Right now, what I do is have one PHP directory.  
Under there are many many subdirs containing various versions of PHP.  
Whichever version I want to be the currently active one, I go into the 
subdir and move all of the files for it up to the main PHP dir.  Crude, 
but 100% effective.

I suspect there may be better ways to run multiple versions.  I suggest
picking at Wez's and Ard's brains to see what comes out.
