Not sure if it's our bug. I believe that replacing those character with appropriate entity is an OpenJade business. There's a nonstandard letter used in the name S[ae]ther - ligature ae. Because of using Russian 8bit charset, this letter removed by Russian letter [zh] (U+0436).
