No, it does not mean you cannot build PHP 5 as a static module. It means exactly what the bug report says, that *instructions* are missing from a specific web page. I believe the INSTALL file contains the necessary instructions . The INSTALL file out of date though since it has instructions like this in it: $gunzip -c php-4.x.y.tar.gz | tar xf - Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2004-09-02 23:06:13] masro at llbc dot de dose this mean i cant build php 5.0.X as a static apache module ? regards ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2004-08-09 14:33:24] [EMAIL PROTECTED] The new install section doesn't have the instructions to build apache/php statically. IMHO This should be added as it has better performance than when compiled as a shared module. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2004-08-09 03:15:03] jean-christian dot imbeault at mizuho-sc dot com Description: ------------ on page http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.apache.php Could you add instruction for compiling PHP5 into apache as a static module? The INSTALL file that comes with PHP5 recommends going to that page for installation instructions but there are none for static module compilation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=29578&edit=1
