Things have been quiet lately following Linux World and I thought I would
check back with you concerning PHP's documentation in the ThoutReader format
from the PHP website.
1. We have made major changes to our licensing and responded to every issue
your team presented. We would very much like your support of our project and
seek your approval as an alternative format for PHP documentation
(http://www.php.net/download-docs.php) via a link.
2. Alternatively, we have created a "hands free" PHP documentation parser
that will parse your documentation and .jar it to a TR package instantly. We
have even tested this on the German format and it worked great. This would
allow you to post it on your site - perhaps as an alternative to Extended
HTML Help (CHM.zip)??
We understand that you may not want to take on another format given your limited resources and time. We would volunteer to maintain and update the ThoutReader format for you. Our conversion is COMPLETELY automated and hands free.
We are making progress with the OS community. Next week we will be posting ALL the documentation for Python and updates for BSD. Our next goal is to start in on the WC3 content in the TR format and then all of the Linux "How-Tos".
I appreciate your consideration. Thanks...
Well, sending your mails only to me was quite a bad idea at the first place. I was away in Antwerp/Brussels at FOSDEM when you have written the first mail to me, then I got home and was busy with organizing the Hungarian PHP Conference, which is just finished, and we are still busy with the stuff we need do after the conf (publishing slides, collecting news reports about the conf etc).
I have just had some time to add a paragraph having a link to your phpdoc download page on our doc download page.
