I fully agree that this information is useful and worth a discussion in
the PHP manual.

But I vehemently disagree that this has anything to do with "Language
Reference" (the section that it is in) or that it describes anything at
all that is part of the language of PHP5.

I am a humble user of PHP who was reading the PHP5 language reference
section to try and understand those features which are PHP5 SPECIFIC.
I was completely confused by this page, as I tried to understand what
it was which was a PHP5 specific thing.

What is there about patterns which do not apply to PHP4?

What is the PHP5 language feature that this page describes? This is
supposed to be the Language Reference. It's not a place to put
whatever things you think are great ways to program PHP.

If you really wish to keep this page, then at the very least it should
be moved to a different section, perhaps as a page in the Appendix
"Using patterns in PHP".

It is not about PHP5. It has no place in the Language Reference
section.

Keep it if you will, but please NOT in the PHP5 Language Reference
section.

I have to agree with derick.
That part of the documentation does not introduce features specific to
PHP but displays how to implement common paterns with php. IMO that's
worth a discussion in the PHP manual.

Why denied? Can you tell me a single thing on this page which is
actually relevant to the PHP documentation?

Description:
------------
I am a great fan of patterns, but nonetheless I do not think that the
following patterns page has ANY place in the PHP documentation
DESCRIBING THE PHP LANGUAGE. It may be really great information, it
may all be perfectly true, and a great way to program in PHP, but it is
my assertion that it does not have a SINGLE piece of information which
actually in any way describes the FUNCTIONALITY of PHP5.

http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.oop5.patterns.php

Expected result:
----------------
I would like to see this page DELETED from the PHP5 documentation.
