Can somebody please check these files, and take care of the movement of spplus.xml? Please also consider the probably existing translations in
peardoc.

I believe you can drop spplus safely and forget about it, since the extension
itself seems to be abandoned for a long time.

Unless someone informs us that this service does not exist, we may as well add it. Awhile ago Brett Bieber and I discussed it including the following bug report on the topic:

  http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=12000

Brett already converted the XML but did not commit as we were in the middle of a phpdoc freeze. And with regards to removing from pearweb, I believe the holdup there is how to deal with the upcoming 404's.

The idea of dropping abandoned or unmaintained extensions is one of its own as PHP is full of these, but typically we side with caution. There is some discussion going on about which to delete, like for example CCVS because the service it deals with hasn't existed for many years...

Philip
