I was a little bit to hasty with my email ("I told you so", sorry for that) we had a lengthly discussion about the https redirect with bjori on twitter and somewhere on the line Helgi was involved also, because if we force the pear and pecl channels also to https, that will create more problems because more people use those than the doc.php.net channel.
