I have the same problem/error with the phpgroupware phpgw 0.9.16! :(
The are a lot of tables automaticle installed, but tables "phpgw_lang", "contact_comm_type", "phpgw_contact_comm_descr" not installed. :( I use php 4.4.4, apache 2.0 and mysql 4.1.21.
