backup your database directories and files that are probably located in /var/lib/mysql/ Then reinstall mysql cleanly and copy the backed up files at the onw place. Pay attention NOT to copy the /var/lib/mysql/mysql directory since mysql stores the users information inside mysql self and restoring this last directory will regenerate your actual problem.
