Hello John, Version 1.3.1 is the latest release in the 1.x branch.
Work towards version 2.0 (jdk 1.5+) is on svn trunk but has not had any releases. Work towards version 3.0 (jdk 1.6+) is on the 3.0-spike branch and has had only the 3.0-beta1-rc1 release so far. I use 3.0-beta1-rc1 for all my downstream work and would recommend using that release if you are comfortable with the jdk 1.6+ requirement.
