I just yesterday added simple bytecompilation management to the
maintainer scripts (with the help of triggers), except for
master.pike. There is no way to turn it off at build time short of
patching the makefiles, but it has so far always failed completely
when I run the build (except for master.pike, which is handled
specially, but a master.pike.o created with pike -x dump should work
equally well, shouldn't it?). I could, however, simply exclude any .o
files from the packages.
