To be sure about the rate actually used I ran 'stty -f /dev/pilot' while
a backup was running. It mentioned 'speed 115200 baud;' so I'm really
puzzled now.
(After the backup the port is set to its default 'speed 9600 baud;')

Could it be protocol overhead ?

Does 'time pilot-xfer -s .' really perform as 115k2 for you ?
