I am also interested in helping with tagging specifically. I am interested in something that allows adding weights to tags that are applied to particular objects. I think this would effectively allow tags to work like genre deciding mechanisms where the top ten tags for a Book object might be sci-fi, ender, card and other things that are free-form but not necessarily specific to just a book.
