Hi
A friend of mine makes gum, cyanotype and van dyke brown prints with paper
negatives by peeling the paper backing off the resin coating. The image
attaches to the resin and it very thin. You then need to use a frame to
hold it flat during exposure but the exposure times are very reasonable and
the prints are beautiful.
He also has a mate that works in a hospital who gets him boxes of out of
date X-ray duplication film. This stuff is great because you can enlarge
35mm negatives onto 8x10 sheets of this film and end up with large negatives
for contact printing.
Cheers,
Tim

Hi:
you can make cyanotypes from a paper negative. It just takes a long time.
A friend of mine has done this - he needed to expose these for three hours
in the sun.
You could try waxing the paper negatives to make them more transparent.
People have had success using melted parafin wax.
