Hi: I've processed peal apart polaroid films without using a polaroid back.
I uses a jam jar to burst the chemical pod and spread it over the film. This works well. However I did use a back to take the pictures. I was using single sheet film. The outer layer has the chemical pod and acts as a darkslide as well. You need to pull the outerlayer up off the film to expose it. If you are trying to make a pinhole camera that uses this film you need to come up with a way of pulling the darkslide out. You may be able to take the thing apart in the dark and place the film in the camra - take the picture and go back into the dark and put the film back inside the backing - but I think the film is made so that this isn't easily done. I tried making a mechanism that would hold the film in place and let me pull the darkslide up to take a picture and back again. Was trying to make a polaroid pinhole camera that did not need a polariod back. Never had any success.
