Hi everybody, Some time ago several of us who had been involved with the creation of the first Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day on April 29, 2001 decided to get together to make happen the 2nd WPPD, on Sunday April 28, 2002.
The team is made up of Gregg Kemp, Co-leader Guy Glorieux, Co-leader Zernike Au, Asia Coordinator Diana Bloomfield, Support Coordinator Jean Daubas, Europe Coordinator and Translation Coordinator with Gregg Kemp Ed Levinson, Japan Coordinator Tom Miller, Events Coordinator Rosanne Stutts, Promotion Coordinator Ana Maria Schultze, Latin America Coordinator Our goals this year is to build on the experience of WPPD1 and to substantially increase promotion for WPPD2 by reaching out to the widdest possible groups of people. Since several events, workshops, etc... were organized on the occasion of WPPD1, we also felt that it would be appropriate to provide greater coordination through the WPPD/Pinhole Visions Web sites. For those on the list who may not be familiar with the WPPD, you are welcome to visit the site and the gallery of pinhole images that were made on April 29, 2001 at: http://www.pinholeday.org The Team has been quite active since we started in the Fall. We prepared a Press Release which Rosanne has begun to circulate to a wide group of people consisting of photography magazines, art magazines, art education schools and professions, photography clubs and associations, etc... She has received very positive comments in return and this will certainly help reaching a lot more people than we hd time to do the first year. Gregg has been working hard on making changes to the web site to accomodate a number of suggestions that were made on the occasion of WPPD1 and to make the site generally easier to navigate. Tom has developped ideas to help people who want to organize activities at the time of the WPPD and he will bring them up on the list shortly. Diana is working on improving the support page of the web site so that those who are looking for information about pinholin' can get to it more easily. And the rest of the team has been involved helping others with their tasks. There is a lot of work still ahead, particularly as regards translation. I will keep you informed periodically on what is going on with WPPD2, but if you have any questions, suggestions, ideas that you'd like to share with us, please don't hesitate to contact me or any of us. Best, perhaps, use the Pinhole Visions Forum to post your ideas on the thread dedicated to the subject at http://www.???????/forum/ On behalf ot the WPPD 2002 Team, I want to wish you all a very happy holiday period and lots of great light for pinholin'. Cheers, Guy
