How did you learn of the competition?
Soho Photo Gallery of New York City is
proud to announce its fourth National
Juried “Krappy Kamera” Competition. The
competition is open to artists working with
plastic cameras such as the Holga, Diana,
Dories, Lubitel, Ansco Pix, or homemade
pinhole cameras. Juror Barbara Millstein will
select 25 – 30 prints to be included in a
month-long exhibition at the Gallery in
March 2002. One grand prize winner will
also receive a cash award.
Prizes
25 – 30 photographers will be selected to
exhibit their winning entries in a group
show at Soho Photo in March 2002. Awards
will include a cash prize for First Place.
Entry
The competition is open to U.S. residents
only, 18 years of age or older, excluding
members of Soho Photo Gallery. Any
photographic print medium will be ac-cepted.
The maximum height and width
dimensions of the displayed work (including
frame) cannot exceed 36 inches. Free-standing
pieces cannot be accepted.

Fees
Up to six 35mm slides may be entered for a
$35 entry fee. Make checks payable to Soho
Photo Gallery. Be sure to include the com-pleted
entry form and SASE for return.

Slides
All work will be judged from 35mm slides.
These should be copy slides, not originals. Mark
each slide with your name and telephone
number, number the slides from 1 – 6 and
indicate the top of the work with a dot. Include
a self-addressed stamped envelope with your
entry for the return of your slides. Send slides
by U.S. Mail only (no return signatures). Please
do not send glass or metal slides, or use
excessive packing. All due care will be taken with
your slides, but because of the number of expected
entries Soho Photo cannot be responsible for
damaged or missing slides.

Hand deliveries can be made Thurs. 6– 8
PM, Friday – Sunday 1– 6 PM and must also
include a SASE.
The deadline for delivery of winning entries
will be February 15, 2002. Winning photo-graphs
must be framed and wired for
hanging. Work is insured only while in the
Gallery.
Dates
The completed application, slides, and fee
must be received by December 31, 2001.
Winners will be notified by January 31,
2002. Finalists’ prints are due by Feb. 15th,
2002.
