I'd be interested in such a camera. I think you could buy the material 
(photographic) from Polaroid.

my idea would be to build it like a pop-up tent with some light proof 
material. Possibly for weight use aluminum rods (square). TYou wouldn't5 
have the fine rack & pinion adjustment, but the cost would be much less.
