Mike, Yes, good question. I will be shooting some film this weekend and will include some flare provoking shots.
I'm not sure what the thickness is. I received a warning with the pinhole not to touch it or clean it with anything other than air. The description of their standard pinholes is on http://www.lenoxlaser.com/opticalproducts/standard_apertures.html. And they are very good at answering emails.
