Hi Ed,

I started pinholing using paper negatives in oatmeal and cigar boxes,
and still use them quite a bit, now mostly 11x14 in large tins.
Another thing to try is 4x5 sheet film in cigar boxes. I have several
identical ones that have interchangable "film holders" made out of mat
board. Other possibilities are purchasing a Leonardo camera from the
Pinhole Resource www.pinholeresource.com. They use standard 4x5 film
holders. I have a couple of these and they're wonderful. Lots of
people on this list use the Zero 2000, a small 120-roll-film camera,
and seem to enjoy it and make to create great images. It is possible,
too, to convert an old 120 box camera for a this purpose. Branching
out from stricly pinhole, you might try zone plate photography. A
Leonardo can be easily converted to a zone-plate camera. Gosh, the
possibilities are endless. For black and white sheet film, I always
use Kodak Tri-X. I've tried other films, including T-Max; but found
the Tri-X best overall. Check the pinhole listings on Ebay, too; good
cameras come up their all the time. Have fun creating cameras and
images!

Tom
