The plugin system, unfortunately, was never used. We're currently
undergoing some big refactoring/redesigning in pitivi, and proper
integration of plugins is in that list.
As for effects, our initial step will be to expose all the available
gstreamer audio/video filters. The plugin system will then be useful to
create custom effects reusing existing gstreamer plugins and maybe
customized UI.
