Howdy,
I would like to attack:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=596864, "deprecater /
version freshness checker".

I chose this bug because it is fairly straight forward and I am trying
to learn python, I am one of those do to learn people :). So if you
have time and would be kind enough to answer a question or two I will
be appreciative.

Questions, questions:
Q: Which libraries should I use for downloading/xml parsing. GIO? I
didn't see any bindings for the g_markup_* calls

Q: What part(s) of the code base should be of most interest to me? I
have had a look already, mostly had a look at the prefs stuff and the
initializing of the application.

Q: How do I do this, e.g. design-wise I really don't have the
experience as to how this "should be" implemented. I assume create an
object to handle the version check, use async callback for a download,
and show a dialog if needed.

Q: opt-out: just use a PreferenceDialog.addTogglePreference () I
assume, which section do I place the options in.
: also I assume there will be a checkbox on the dialog to disable
this if it does display
: are these .add calls automatically persistent between pitivi sessions?

Any response is welcome, if you can provide assessment of my question
asking skills/ asking the rightquestions etc. that would be
appreciated too :)
/Stephen
