I know I've talked with many of you about prolactinomas and taking dostinex... but I have a question about some of the other hormones that can be affected by an adenoma. Because of the dostinex my prolactin level is now normal, but my testesterone stayed low until I was on two androderm (5 mg. each) per day. I quit the patches last month because of my skin reactions to them. I guess my main question is do elevated ACTH levels usually (always) indicate Cushings? My last two lab results indicated ACTH levels of about 58 (normal 6-48). Also, serum LH was 0.3 (normal 1.5-9.3), and on one test my intact PTH slightly high, 98 (normal 8-97). I'd appreciate and ideas you may have and I realize the final analysis is for health care professionals, but I've found be being a member of this group that the wealth of personal experience and acquired knowledge is invaluable. Thanks, Allen ![]() |
