Hi Kiwi! I found some articles on hypothyroidism and pregnancy at these links: From the Enocrine Web, it discusses that hypothyrodism is common in pregnancy. It also discusses that some women develop thyroid inflammation postpartum, called postpartum thyroiditis (hyperthyroidism). It sounds like you have had both of these things. I am not a doctor, but I think it is important for you to have an endocrinologist check for Hashimotos Thyroiditis, TSH from the pituitary, Serum T3 and T4, and serum T3 and T4 uptake levels. The tests above can give the doctors clues if there is a pituitary issue involved. If the doctor thinks there is a pituitary issue involved, he may order a TRH stimulation test, to check the pituitary-thyroid-axis. I hope this basic information helps. ![]() Minnie |
