Shahinian is worth every penny. I had a 3mm tumor, but Shahinian has pretty much given me my life back. He performed my fully endoscopic transsphenodial surgery on July 7, and I'm already back at work, going out, etc. I can't praise Shahinian and his staff enough -- they were very polite and professional, which put me and my family at ease. The surgery itself was under 2 hours. For the fat graft, he made a very small, vertical incision just below my belly button. Because I'm thin, the incision didn't even require stitches or staples, just some sutures (which have already fallen off). After one night in the ICU, I went home. Post-op care is no big deal: for a couple of weeks you have to sleep with your head elevated; rinse your sinuses with a saline solution; and not lift anything heavier than a telephone. I had a headache for the first two days, but Vicodan took care of that. I have Blue Cross PPO, which Shahinian accepts; a $2,000 deposit was required. Good luck and God bless! |
