You put your face to a machine to see a
screen inside and hold a “buzzer” in your hand. You look
straight ahead at all times and whenever you see a dot of light/color flash
anywhere, you press the buzzer. Some dots will be bright, others dim, and
will be all over the place. But only look straight ahead. This
helps the doctor determine how much peripheral vision you have (what you can
see out of the corner of your eye.) <o:p></o:p>

That’s how my tumor was
diagnosed. I woke up with tunnel vision, saw an eye doctor and had a
visual field test. The printout test result showed black straight down
the center on the left and right. So I could only see in the very center
(by my nose.) Such a stark line where I could/couldn’t see showed
that something was pressing on my optic nerve (because the optic nerves cross
just in front of the pit gland.)<o:p></o:p>
