I think you are right about the cortisol levels- I've talked with my endo about going on long term prednisone- but she is reluctant- however- she isn't the one that feels like a 90 year old in a 40 yr old body all the time- You're right- sleep does nothing to alleviate the exhaustion/weakness- infact, when I wake in the morning- I feel really bad & unrested- I'll snap out of it for periods during the day- but mostly it is constant- Stress seems to bring on these 'spells' too I noticed I know one thing- I just can't go the rewst of my life feeling like this- it's ruined my life basically & doctors just don't understand that and are reluctant to use the steroids- I have the hardest time convincing htem that I need it because they check my cortisol levels & it never shows anythign wrong. I ask them if I don't need it, then why do I not have these spells on the prednisone? Their answer is that it's a steroid & of course I'll feel better? What kind of answer is that? IF I feel better- then it would seem I need it, no? I need a patient advocate I thinlk- I just can't seem to get it through to them that I feel aweful- the problem is, that we don't 'look sick' on the outside. That's the frustrating part. Docs see us and think we're just complaining of beign a 'bit run down' - I can't make em understand it's constant- like having a constant flu- no let up- weak muscles that hurt from mundane thigns like towelling my hair off- that aint normal- Anyways- sorry for rant- Sorry you'r going through so much- |
