----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: kerrymom3 Message 1 in Discussion I posted under the 'mental health' topic also. I go for my annual MRI on the 21st- i have had this tiny tumor for about 4yrs now. My Dr made it like it was no big deal, it is very small he says. OK let me go back....Hi- I am new here...I am 32 yo mom. For years prior to actually finding a tumor, i had all the symptoms, no period - elevated prolactin levels- secretions from my breasts...finally they found something back in 2003 after SEVERAL mri's that i had during my early 20's and so on. But they say it's so small, and 'not to worry about it'. No big deal!!! Maybe the neurologist i am seeing doesn't know about all of this that 'can' happen or go along with a prolactinoma? Because he has said nothing to me in the past about what 'can' go along with this kind of tumor.Thank GOD i found this board. I feel so out of sorts anymore- crazy at times- I have such anger issues anymore- it is making me crazy feeling this way because i have 3 little kids (don't ask how they were even conceived . My dr's think i am some medical marvel conceiving with my prolactin levels so elevated and lack of periods). Anyway i have NO appetite at all. I am all of 96lbs, I am 5'1. I weigh less now than i did when i got married. It's crazy. My memory is really shot (short term). It is very upsetting, i forget things constantly. I feel like my kids are seeing me as this scatter brained mess, angry at times over the stupidest things- and then depressed on top of it. I have never been on meds before, and i fear to start. I want to know WHY my Dr has not mentioned ANY side effects that this tiny tumor can cause?????????? I found this board a few days ago, and i have been saying OH MY GOD reading through these topics, because i can totally relate to them. I had NO Idea that i was NOT alone!!! I have a feeling my prolactinoma has changed since my last MRI. I have been getting headaches and dizzy spells so often too....anyone having this many symptoms??? I remember talking to my neurologist about the headaches. He said it was NOT related to the tumor????? I do have another question...what should the Dr's be looking for in my bloodwork besides prolactin levels? I have to get blood drawn this week. What other things should be checked off on that script (i have it here, i will mark off more things if necessary) Please Help!!! Thank you!!!
