Thanks for your responses. The doctor is still at a loss to explain what is
causing the withdrawal headaches. He had me go back to my original dose { which
I stated incorrectly in my initial post, but can't remember now what it is }
but to self inject every 4 hours with a double dose before bed. After a few
days this seemed to lessen the headaches and I just kind of managed through a
week or so, but then the last four days the headaches have started to come on
earlier as the dose wears off and are becoming more severe. With the headaches,
I feel really heavy or clouded and then when I take the shot I am fine within
10 minutes. The doctor wanted to have me on this prior to the LAR to see if I
had any bad reactions. Truth be to told, I am very scared to go on a long
acting version of this, could the fourth week of the monthly treatment end up
to be one long headache?
My doctor has not had me come into his office yet regarding this - I don't
know what else to do. I have had plenty of headaches, but I have never before
felt that they were dangerous like this. I asked him if it could be
hyperglycemia and he had me come in for a testing kit, I only had 10 strips, a
few were considered high. I went and took my blood pressure at the drug store,
it was 139/100. I have been waiting this morning for him to call me back.
I have read on a few threads that people experienced headaches with the
Sandostatin, did anyone else experience these symptoms of withdrawal and the
headache going away when you take the Sandostatin?
