I have been taking androgel since the year 2000 as part of the treatment for my
pituitary turmor. The first of this the year, 2008, Blue Cross swithed to a
new mail-order pharmacy, Medco. I was stunned when Medco told me that they
would not accept any refills on the open RX I had for the previous pharmacy
because Androgel is considered a "controlled substance."

In all the years I have been taking this stuff, I was never told that it as a
"controlled substance." No info appears on the box or the RX label saying it
is. Is the something that Caremark made up. Can anyone who is taking Androgel
enlighten me on the subject?
