My vision progressively continued to get worse to the point where I could not
drive for a year and it affected my balance. I found out after my surgery which
cured the visual problems that it is not just the pressure that causes the eye
problems but the tumor itself also gives off chemicals that are unknown to the
body and can cause all sorts of problems with the brain. My vision now is
great. My surgery was on September 6, 2007.

HUGS,
Tina

Hi my 15 year old daughter was diagnosed with a macroprolactinoma two years
and two months ago , she has been on cabergoline and everything was going
fine, until it stopped responding and they increased the drug twice before she
started acting really out of character and having horrible thoughts self
harming etc, they stopped the drug immediately and in time she returned to
normal but the tumour started to grow and the consultant said it had started to
grow up which was quite dangerous as it could cause blindness etc ..well she
had never had eye trouble and they have started her back on a low dose of the
cabergoline which has stopped the mega migraines but lately she has complained
of her eyes aching, in fact she was crying in pain last night and one of her
eyes was moving independantly, i was wondering if anyone else had experienced
anything like this and if so what was the outcome. The neurologist said he may
have to operate, but the endos want to persist with the drug ...i am in a bit
of a dilema as to what to think...or do.
