Pivot doesn't need a "lockable container", since disabling a Pivot container does effectively disable its children as well. You can use BlurDecorator to achieve the visual effect. You can use an ActivityIndictator in a StackPane to achieve the "busy" effect.

You can do this with a TagDecorator.
Is it possible with Pivot or something has to be developed (and maybe here some concepts are different from GlassPane or the more interesting JXLayer, both for Swing...) ?
Decorators serve this purpose in Pivot.
