I actually like the latest version better (with the "Apache" text added and "PIVOT" beneath the blocks). The staggering makes more sense that way. Though I'm still curious to see how a larger central block would look, and getting rid of the gradients might not be a bad idea.
What about staggering the blocks, but not canting the middle one?
