I implemented an about box for my Pivot app, and I think about boxes are highly application and branding specific. As such, I don't see it as something we should include in the platform. They're terribly easy to implement at the app level, and it gives the app developer control over what info to present and exactly how they want to present it. Also, in general, applications will want their logo in the about box, not the Pivot logo :)
