Subject: clamav: Illegal instruction on i686
Package: clamav
X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Version: 1.4.3+dfsg-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

clamscan fails to even start on my old Athlon XP "war ship".
It will always reach the same mid point loading signatures before crashing
with "Illegal instruction" error text. I do not think it matters what the
target is and there should be enough available RAM to at least clear the
signature load (I tried on Devuan Daedalus and there it works).

Starting from the upcoming Debian 13 "trixie" release (and thus already
in testing and unstable), the i386 architecture is no longer supported
for standalone 32-bit systems.

See
https://www.debian.org/releases/trixie/release-notes/issues.en.html#i386-reduced-support
for more details.

Regards,

Adam
