The bug fixes to which that announcement refers are for release critical
bugs.  Unfortunately, the window for fixing less severe bugs has closed
quite a while back.

I have not had time to dig into any of the bugs against xiphos, but if
you would like to submit a patch, I would be happy to review it and
sponsor an upload after the release later this month.
