You may well be correct. However, that would be a bug in the scid
package, not in debuild; debuild never calls configure, the calls and
output in question are generated by scid's debian/rules.
I'm therefore reassigning this bug to scid. (Incidentally, only version
3.6.1-2 appears to be in Debian as far as I can see).
